Lesson 3 Embossing

Embossing is a simple technique of combining rubber stamps, pigment ink and embossing
powder. Take any rubber stamp inked with a pigment ink then stamp and sprinkle with
a generous amount of embossing powder. Shake off excess and put back in bottle.
(a little goes a long way) Heat with a heat gun. This doesn't take to long a minute or less.
You will be able to see the powder melt and turn to a glossy finish. Be careful when using
a heat gun as they are very hot!! and can quickly scorch the paper. Hint: A hair dryer
will not work as they are not hot enough and will only blow your powder around.
Embossing powder comes in a wide array of colors as well as clear. You can mix colored
ink with colored powder or if you prefer to give your ink color a glossy finish without
changing color use clear powder.
